Bryant Park - A Bit of Serenity in the Midst of Madness

I remember the first time I went to Bryant Park when I moved here 5 years ago. I thought I had found the city's greatest secret! Just two blocks away from Times Square, the park is green, peaceful, and serene. How could this be? 200' away is one of the most densely populated places on the planet!

The park is flanked by the beautiful architecture of the main branch of the New York City Library, and several incredible skyscrapers. And every Monday in the summer, it hosts "Screen on the Green" - just like an old-fashioned drive-in (minus the making out in the back seat and the people who rollerskated up to your car window to give you your milkshake).

Yesterday, before our Kirsten's bachelorette party, Liz and I went and sat in the park for a few minutes to chat. It was a great way to start the weekend.

For the free movies on Monday nights, there are up to 15,000 people here on the lawn!
