Wandering in the "tension of the unknown"*

Yes, that's us these days, living in the "tension of the unknown."  We move in less than a month back to a yet-to-be-known location. House is basically packed, tickets booked, hearts are ready for the transition, but we remain in many ways "homeless." Not in the true sense  - we have our health, our friends and family, paying jobs that we enjoy and call more "careers" than "jobs," and a roof over our heads.

But in many ways, we feel quite nomadic, living in this in-between world.  My parents have moved away from my childhood home, uprooting the one thing in our constantly-changing life that anchored me to Ohio, the Midwest, the girl I always considered myself to be, no matter where I lived or which country I had traveled to.  My sisters now live in two different states (California, Ohio), and my job here is ending soon.

So, as I sit here on this warm Saturday morning, drinking coffee, thinking, contemplating God's design in our lives, I wait in that tension...and enjoy the fresh discovery of a new great artist, Josh Garrels.  Enjoy!

*Shout out to Heather for originally coining the phrase. It's been like a guidebook to our lives of transition in our 20's and 30's over the past decade! Love you, friend.
