Palm Sunday (Domingo de Ramos) in Costa Rica

Living in Costa Rica, and celebrating holidays like Christmas and Easter, has been interesting as we've learned a little bit more about the customs and rituals of the Catholic church here.

On Palm Sunday (Domingo de Ramos), I went down to the main cathedral in San Jose, Catedral Metropolitana, to watch a re-enactment of Jesus' procession into Jerusalem in the days leading up to His crucifixion.  The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the church bells were ringing; it was a beautiful day to remember this time in our history and what it meant for the world.
