Homeowners with a mission

Yes, you read that right! As of 6:45 a.m. this morning, we are officially homeowners! Earliest.closing.ever.  It was the only time we could find that would work for the schedules of 2 realtors, 1 closing attorney getting married tomorrow, 1 medical student, and me! Phew.

Two things to tell you: 1) We are beyond excited. 2) Don't believe anything you watch on HGTV.  Buying a home is FAR more complicated than we ever thought it would be! But we're I am already picking out paint colors, choosing fabric samples, and scouting out flea markets to start having fun creating our own little place! And yes, you're welcome to come visit!

This blog post tonight over at Christianity Today's Herm.meneutics nicely sums up the way we want our home to be: an inviting place for anyone and everyone to come, stay awhile, be encouraged, make a friend, and leave feeling cared for and loved.   Whether that's through a warm bed, a cup of coffee on the deck, or a homemade meal around our kitchen table, we've been praying that our home would be a welcome spot of reprieve for friends, neighbors, and strangers in thiscrazyworld.  Won't you stop by?

John 1:14: "The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood.  We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. "
